Butterfly can be seen as a symbol of transformation and change in Hindu and Buddhist thought, reflecting the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Its life cycle, starting from an egg to a caterpillar, then cocooning into a chrysalis before emerging as a beautiful butterfly, can be likened to the journey of the soul in Hinduism.
Additionally, some stories from Hindu mythology may indirectly reference butterflies or use them as metaphors. For instance, the "Kundalini" energy, often represented as a coiled serpent at the base of the spine, is sometimes associated with the butterfly's transformative journey as it rises through the chakras, leading to spiritual awakening.
